Navy head sacked over loss of sub

Argentina has dismissed the head of its navy as part of an investigation into the disappearance of a submarine with 44 crew aboard last month.

The state news agency Télam said Oscar Aguad, the defence minister, requested that Marcelo Srur step down while authorities look into what happened to the ARA San Juan. Two navy commanders were suspended last week.
