South Korean pop star dies in suspected suicide
The lead singer of Shinee, a South Korean boy band, died in hospital yesterday in a possible suicide.
Kim Jong-hyun, 27, was found unconscious at a hotel in Seoul and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, Seoul police said.
Yonhap news agency said the singer sent a final message to his sister asking her to “let me go”.
Kim, one of the biggest stars of the global “K-pop” music genre, spent nearly a decade with Shinee.
