Japanese panda’s public debut

The lucky winners of a Japanese lottery had the first live glimpse of baby panda Xiang Xiang yesterday, but others had to settle for watching the cub on a video streamed live by the Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo.

The healthy female cub was born in June, five years after Shin Shin, her mother, lost another cub within days of its birth.
