At the West Midlands Bridge Blub in Solihull, writes Julian Pottage,

Bridge Correspondent, the English Bridge Union has held a trial for the team to represent England in the Teltscher Trophy in Wales in May. Results are as follows:

1st Penfold (Sandra Penfold, Norman Selway, Tony Forrester and David Kendrick), 73.44 VPS (+167 IMPS); 2nd Davies (Sandy Davies, Tom Gisborne, Dave Robinson and Warner Solomon), 71.07 VPS (+103 IMPS); and 3rd Smith (Nick Smith, Roger Bryant, Trevor Ward and Peter Shelley), 54.61 VPS (+32 IMPS).
