Burma general on US sanctions list

The US last night imposed sanctions on a Burmese general accused of leading an ethnic cleansing campaign against Rohingya villagers.

Maung Maung Soe joins 14 senior figures blacklisted under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. He was said to have overseen “the military operation responsible for widespread human rights abuse”.
