MPS accused of inappropriateness cleared by Tories
THE Conservative Party has announced that it will take no further action against two Tory MPS accused of making inappropriate advances.
Stephen Crabb, a married former Cabinet minister, admitted sending a young woman sexually explicit text messages after rejecting her job application for a role in his office.
Following an investigation by The Daily Telegraph, Mr Crabb admitted to saying “some pretty outrageous things” to the woman after interviewing her.
The Tories said that his behaviour “did not constitute harassment” but concluded that “his behaviour … was inappropriate and fell short of the standards the party expects”.
He accepted unreservedly and made a full apology.
Chris Pincher, a second Tory MP, was also cleared by the party after referring himself for an investigation.
Mr Pincher stepped down as a Tory whip after he was accused of making an unwanted pass at Alex Story, a former Olympic rower and Tory activist.
The Conservative Party concluded there had been no breach of the code of conduct.
