Chelsea tractors make me want to head for the hills

According to a new survey, the place with the most off-roaders in the country is… London. In some boroughs of the capital, a third of all cars are 4x4s. Where I live, it’s more like two thirds – they are a necessity, it seems, when attempting to navigate the speed bumps on roads immaculately tarmacked by Hilly: in some London boroughs, a third of all cars are 4x4s Wandsworth council. Simply too ghastly in anything other than a car that costs the same as a house in other parts of Britain. The other third? Uber drivers and Deliveroo riders. It’s enough to make me want to move to the country.
