How many engineers ...
SIR – Three years ago I purchased a combination cooker from Neff.
Recently the light-bulb failed, and it appeared difficult to remove the bulb. I contacted the firm which supplied the oven, only to be told that a specialist electrician would be required. That electrician told me I would need a Neff engineer to change the bulb.
Somewhat taken aback, I spoke to Neff, who confirmed that an engineer would be required, and that there would be a call-out fee of £96. That is before one factors in the cost of the bulb, plus the time taken to complete the work.
I find it difficult to comprehend how such a reputable firm can design a machine that necessitates an engineer to change a light-bulb, at a cost of over £100. Future purchasers, beware. Sally Hands
