Fined for helping people flee terror raid

-

 A black cab driver has been fined for going through a red light as he tried to help stranded members of the public after the London Bridge terror attack.

Ryan Barney had just finished his shift the night three terrorists drove a van at people on the bridge before a knife attack in Borough Market.

After seeing news of the atrocity on June 3, which left eight people dead and 48 injured, the 31-year-old set off towards the area to help people fleeing. But as he drove a cab full of passengers home to east London, his offence was caught on camera. He was given three points on his licence, and fined £160 plus £110 costs.

The father-of-two said: “I explained my actions in the mitigation. I thought that I’d try and do my bit.”
