Plane turns back over ‘stowaway’
A TOKYO-BOUND jet returned to Los Angeles International Airport because the crew learned four hours into the flight that a passenger was on the wrong plane.
Flight 175 of All Nippon Airways (ANA) departed Los Angeles at 11.36am (7.36pm GMT) on Tuesday for Tokyo Narita Airport, but turned around over the Pacific Ocean when crew members learned of the mix-up. It landed in Los Angeles at 7.33pm, the airline said. Chrissy Teigen, the model, said in a tweet that she and her husband John Legend, the singer, were on the flight.
Los Angeles TV station KTLA said the FBI interviewed passengers and that the agency received reports of a “possible stowaway” but no arrests were made. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment. ANA said it was investigating.
