Woman’s ‘life-changing’ injuries after acid attack

-

A woman has suffered life-changing injuries after acid was thrown at her.

Scotland Yard said the 36-year-old was walking alone in Canary Wharf, East London, on Wednesday when she was attacked. Police were called at 7pm and she is in hospital with burn injuries to her leg and face. Tests have confirmed that acid was thrown at the woman. She did not see her attacker.

No arrests have been made and detectives are looking at CCTV images in an attempt to find the suspect. It comes after Stephen Timms, the MP and former Labour minister, claimed that parts of London are now “no-go areas” due to the threat of acid attacks.
