Iraq extends flight ban on Kurdistan

Iraqi authorities have extended an international flight ban imposed on the autonomous Kurdish region until the end of February in response to a controversial independence vote.

Baghdad cut Iraqi Kurdistan’s air links in late September after the region voted overwhelmingly for independence in a referendum which the central government regards as being illegal.
