Redknapps divorce due to his ‘unreasonable behaviour’

 Louise Redknapp has divorced her husband, Jamie, in a 25-second hearing, after a judge agreed she could not “reasonably be expected” to live with him. The decree nisi was granted at the Central Family Court in London.

Neither Mr Redknapp, 44, a former Liverpool and Tottenham footballer who now works as a Sky Sports pundit, nor Mrs Redknapp, 43, a former pop singer and now stage and television personality, were in court.

Mrs Redknapp had filed for divorce and said the marriage had irretrievably broken down because of Mr Redknapp’s “unreasonable behaviour”. He did not contest the application.

A wife or husband can apply for a decree absolute – which formally ends the marriage – six weeks after a decree nisi is granted.

Mrs Redknapp appeared on the BBC’S Strictly Come Dancing last year and is currently starring in the musical Cabaret. The couple’s marriage of almost 20 years had previously been regarded as one of the most solid in showbusiness.
