Celebrity Big Brother welcomes Widdecombe

-

Ann Widdecombe entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night for a special all-female series.

The former Conservative MP, 70, has appeared in a number of television shows, including last year’s Sugar Free Farm and the 2010 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The new season of the Channel 5 reality show marks 100 years since women over the age of 30 won the right to vote in the UK.

Ms Widdecombe will be joined by, among others, Rachel Johnson, 52, the journalist and sister to Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, and Amanda Barrie, 82, who has starred in Coronation Street and Benidorm.
