Royal flush takes on a whole new meaning as romance travels economy

Fly move: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle flew economy to Nice

-

My royal romance continues apace. I’m hopelessly in love with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship, and will brook no opposition to my obsession.

The latest instalment in their whirlwind courtship is that Prince Harry whisked his intended off to the French Riviera for New Year.

He was wearing a baseball cap, she was sporting a black beanie. They were holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes, or that’s what I like to think.

The least romantic bit of this whole story is that they flew economy on British Airways and were seated at the back of the aircraft “near to the toilets”.

It’s not exactly what I would have expected of them. A private jet or a glamorous helicopter ride – perhaps with Harry in black tie manning the controls – would be more in keeping with the Mills & Boonesque image I have of it in my mind.

Still, at least they had three whole rows of seating to themselves.

Romance isn’t entirely dead.

Not yet, anyhow.
