Three hurt as building partially collapses

-

A four-year-old boy and his mother escaped serious injury when they were showered by bricks falling from a three-storey building.

Police said the pair, along with a man, were hurt when part of a building in Epsom, Surrey, collapsed yesterday afternoon.

The boy and his mother were taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, but their injuries were not thought to be serious. Police said the man suffered minor leg injuries.

Ambulances were called to the scene with police and firefighters just before 1pm. The road remained closed overnight while the risk of falling masonry remained.
