Highland hipster
SIR – As a lifelong Highland deerstalker, I sympathise with Sir Andrew Murray’s concern about his hip (report, January 3). I damaged mine by pulling deer carcases down from the hills to the game larder.
I now have two full prostheses but stalk with the help of a walking stick made from the head of one of the original femoral bones. I urge Sir Andrew to retire from tennis while his muscles are in good shape and take up another outdoor, but less challenging pursuit, on his Scottish estate. Iain Thornber
