Unpunctual pips

SIR – Paul Grimsdell (Letters, January 6) explains why the last pip at 8am on Radio 4 may go missing on digital radio.

At times, I hear up to a dozen pips, because we listen to Radio 4 through different equipment in different parts of the house: television set, digital radio, FM and LW. To my ear, they are not synchronised.

I had read that the most accurate time pip came via LW. Is this still true? Michael Fielding
