Tax on Brexit donors

SIR – Derek Lindsey (Letters, January 9), discussing Brexit donations, is incorrect in his view of what qualifies as a potentially exempt transfer.

For a payment to qualify as such, it must be made from one individual to another. The Brexit donations were not to an individual, and were thus lifetime chargeable transfers. Graham Davies
