Blogger sings anti-semitic song in dock
A blogger sang an anti-semitic song in the dock as she was tried for posting racist material online.
Alison Chabloz, 53, posted a link on her blog to a Youtube video of her singing and strumming the guitar to a self-penned song entitled (((survivor))). It mocked Jewish figures, including Elie Wiesel, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, and Anne and Otto Frank, to the tune of a traditional Jewish song.
Ms Chabloz joined in from the dock when the video was shown to Westminster magistrates’ court as her supporters in the public gallery laughed and applauded.
Ms Chabloz, of Charlesworth, Glossop, Derbyshire, faces five charges related to three songs which were, the prosecution said, “grossly offensive”.
The defendant denies two counts of sending an offensive, indecent or menacing message or material in relation to two of the three songs. She also denies two alternative counts of “causing” offensive material to be sent by a public network, after her performance was posted on her blog.
