Teenagers seeking Isil ‘martyrdom’ sent to jail
Two teenagers who wanted “battlefield martyrdom” have been jailed for trying to join Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Syria.
Mohammed Ali, 18, was jailed at the Old Bailey for four years and two months, with an extended licence period of four years. A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment. They had pleaded guilty to preparing acts of terrorism before Feb 14 2017.
