Actor accused of ‘exploitative behaviour’
FIVE women have come forward accusing the actor James Franco of sexually inappropriate behaviour, following an appearance on US television in which he said accusations made against him on Twitter were “not accurate”.
The Los Angeles Times yesterday published a story alleging Franco, who has starred in Spider-man and 127 Hours, engaged in “inappropriate or sexually exploitative behaviour” on set, in connection with film schools he opened in 2014 and classes he taught at the Playhouse West theatre in Los An- geles. Addressing the allegations to Stephen Colbert, a talk-show host, Franco said: “There were some things on Twitter, I didn’t read them. I’ve heard about them … in my life I pride myself on taking responsibility for things that I’ve done. I do it whenever I know that there is something wrong or needs to be changed, I make it a point to do it.” Michael Plonsker, Franco’s attorney, disputed the allegations in the L A Times.
