Rare chance to buy a 1940s wartime pillbox
An excellent example of a historic Second World War pillbox is to go under the hammer.
It was constructed in the Forties in Minehead as part of the Somerset coastline and Blue Anchor Bay defences. The pillbox is built of brick, concrete and stone but also has a slate roof to camouflage it as a cottage to any enemy aircraft above.
With a freehold guide price of £25,000 to £50,000 it will be sold by auctioneers Clive Emson in February.
Audrey Smith, a valuer, said: “The quality of this property may make it suitable for a variety of uses subject to the necessary consents.”
