Officer’s ex reported her for ‘misusing database’
A female police officer who misused a database was reported by her exboyfriend, who says he was the victim of domestic abuse, a misconduct panel has heard.
Jessica Hamer, of Kent Police, looked up information on a domestic abuse victim for her then partner’s friend, who turned out to be a suspect in the case. The force said there was no policing reason for the search.
Her then boyfriend reported her after their relationship broke down.
Ms Hamer, who is now a detective constable, denies gross misconduct and breaching professional standards of behaviour. The hearing is expected to last three days.
