Islamic school failed to remove extremist books
An Islamic primary school had retained books written by an extremist who has been expelled from the UK after being told to remove them, an Ofsted report has found.
The Olive Tree Primary School, a private Islamic school in Luton, claimed it had removed the “unsuitable books” earlier this year. However, at its most recent inspection, the books were still available.
“In May 2017, some inappropriate books were found in the school’s library that did not promote British values. Although leaders stated they had removed them, inspectors found the same books during this inspection,” the Ofsted report said.
