Man on Fire (2004)

 If you can get past its soppy ending, there are thrills to be had with this tale of redemption from director Tony Scott. It stars Denzel Washington as Creasy, an washed-up former CIA assassin wreaking revenge on the people who kidnapped the nine-yearold child (Dakota Fanning) he was hired to protect. Be warned: this brutal adaptation of A J Quinnell’s novel is not for the faint-hearted.
