Teacher set up CCTV to capture harasser

-

A MAN who harassed his children’s music teacher for years was caught after she set up her own CCTV.

Louise Moore, 51, received handdelivered gifts and cards signed XXX – not realising they were from Raymond Wild, whose children had been sent to her seven years earlier for maths and piano lessons.

The 69-year-old retired telecoms engineer, who was married, posted them through Mrs Moore’s letter box and also climbed over a wall into her garden to leave gifts at the back door.

At first, Mrs Moore believed it was a prank being played by her estranged husband, whom she was divorcing, a court heard. She also questioned close family and friends.

Mrs Moore then installed CCTV equipment, which captured Wild at her home in Furness Vale, High Peak, Derbys. Wild later said he “fancied” Mrs Moore “from afar” and insisted he had no intention of harming her. But, in a statement, the victim said she had decided to move because she was so upset.

At Stockport magistrates’ court, Wild admitted harassment between July 2011 and 2017 and was ordered to pay Mrs Moore £500 to cover the cost of the CCTV equipment. He was also banned from contacting Mrs Moore for two years, and told to complete a 12-month community order, plus 120 hours of unpaid work, and pay £170 court costs.
