Steam car record holder killed in helicopter crash

-

A British man who held the world speed record for a steam car was one of five killed in a helicopter crash in New Mexico on Wednesday.

Charles Burnett III, 61, who set the 139.8mph record in 2009, was heading to his ranch with friends when the crash happened. His long-term partner, Andra Cobb, was the only person in the helicopter to survive.

Roy Bennett, 60, the Zimbabwean opposition leader, former farmer and long-time opponent of Robert Mugabe, was also killed.
