When a dog walker found a skull on the banks of the River Sowy in Somerset foul play was suspected. Now analysis shows it is that of an Iron Age woman who lived more than 2,200 years ago and was decapitated at the age of 45. ‘We can’t tell if that was before or after death,’ said expert Richard Bunning, adding that she may have been part of a Celtic cult.
