Young carers forced out
Slow broadband contributes to a lack of carers in rural areas, campaigners claim. Graham Biggs, of the Rural Services Network, told The Daily
Telegraph that “social factors” – including poor broadband cover, patchy mobile phone signal, and a lack of things to do – were issues that lead young people to desert the countryside. He added: “Who provides the care, or services of any sort, to older people in rural areas if the younger people, effectively, are forced out of rural areas due to low wages, high house prices and the like?”
