SIR – When our vicar first arrived, he rode shotgun on our local milk float (Letters, January 24) in order to get to know the people he was to serve.

Incidentally, he also introduced a real camel into our Epiphany service, which, from memory, was held in the car park of the local pub. Jane Rasch
