Dampener on the day

SIR – Sue Durkin (Letters, January 22) recalls that it was the vicar, not she, who was late for her wedding.

At our wedding, the registrar walked in with a cup of tea in his hand. Having filled in the certificate, he managed to spill some tea on it.
