SANDRINGHA­M, NORFOLK January 24th The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represente­d by Sir David Brewer, KG (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London), at the Service of Thanksgivi­ng for the Life of the Lord Imbert (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London) which was held in the Church of St Martin-in-thefields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, this morning.

The Princess Royal was represente­d by Lady Carew Pole.

The Duke of Kent was represente­d by Mr Nicholas Marden.

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Pasquale Terraccian­o at 4 Grosvenor Square, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Ambassador from the Italian Republic to the Court of St James’s.

By command of Her Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps afterwards called upon His Excellency Dr Peter Ammon at 22 Belgrave Square, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Ambassador from the Federal Republic of Germany to the Court of St James’s. CLARENCE HOUSE January 24th The Prince of Wales, President, the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, this morning visited Quarry Bank Mill’s Styal Estate, Styal Primary School and Northcliff­e Unitarian Chapel, Styal, Wilmslow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Old Sawmill, Back River Street, Congleton.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards attended a Reception to celebrate the Seven Hundredth Anniversar­y of the Mayoralty of Congleton and the work of local charities at the Town Hall, Congleton.
