Derailed train kills three in Italy
At least three people died and 13 were seriously injured yesterday when a train carrying around 250 passengers along a busy commuter route derailed in northern Italy, regional authorities said.
Several train carriages derailed near the Pioltello Limito station, 13 miles outside Milan, at around 7am, said Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, the stateowned rail company.
The head of Milan’s police said an investigation had been opened, with railway police interrogating the train driver.
