Girl took own life after posting cheating message to boyfriend
♦ A girl of 17 was found hanged after she accidentally sent a Snapchat message to her boyfriend revealing she had cheated on him, an inquest heard.
College student Charlotte Guy had intended her confession that she had slept with someone else to go to a friend, but she mistakenly sent it to Jack Hurst, 20, who was away at university.
After realising what she had done, Miss Guy sent a message to Mr Hurst saying: “Goodbye. Please forgive me.” In a final message, she wrote: “I love you – knowing that you hate me is enough.” Mr Hurst called police. An inquest in Bolton heard he used Miss Guy’s Snapchat account to find her location. Her body was found on Sept 24 near St John Rigby College, Wigan, Greater Manchester, where she had been studying healthcare.
