SIR – Can we just take it as a certainty that we will give in on the question of EU citizens’ post-brexit rights, and move on to the next shabby climbdown?

SIR – Why is it necessary for the BBC to pursue the Prime Minister to the ends of the earth so that its reporters may subject her to aggressive questioning on domestic politics which have no relation to the trade deals in hand?

This humiliates her and our country in front of her hosts, and is insulting to them.

I used to admire her, but now feel that she would like personally to bring down the Government by her comments.
