Woman dies in car park of son’s private school
A mother was crushed to death at her son’s £21,000-a-year private school after a kitchen worker accidentally put a car in reverse, an inquest heard.
Caixia Sun, 50, had been to watch a firework display at Sunningdale School when she was was pinned by the Ford Galaxy against another vehicle in the car park.
It was believed that Melvin Owusuansah, the teenage driver, had the car stuck in the “phenomenon of unintended acceleration”, the Reading Coroner’s Court heard.
The inquest was told that Mr Ansah, 19, only held a provisional licence and was not authorised to drive vehicles on the school site.
