Returned mongrel kills neighbour
A dog killed a man a week after being returned to its owner because it was a mongrel bull terrier and not a pedigree, Leeds Crown Court heard.
David Ellam, 52, was attacked by the dog, called Alex, in Huddersfield, West Yorks, in 2016. Richard Walters, prosecuting, said in 2012 a court had granted a dog control order against Alex’s owner, Aaron Joseph, who ignored the conditions. Mr Joseph denies being the owner of a dog which caused death while dangerously out of control. The trial continues.
