Beckhams’ treehouse can stay up, say planners

-

A lavish tree house built on David and Victoria Beckham’s property in the Cotswolds is allowed stay up, planners have said – provided all the external lights are turned off by 4pm.

The decision by West Oxfordshire District Council followed the couple’s application made after they had already built the structure. The pair were caught out when Mrs Beckham uploaded a photo of the new treehouse on Instagram, prompting complaints.

West Oxfordshire District Council approved the plans so long as the structure was not lit up after 4pm “in the interests of the rural character and appearance of the area and the setting of the listed building”.
