Vaping under a cloud

SIR – The UK Vaping Industry Association welcomes yet another ringing endorsement for the positive public health opportunity that vaping represents (“Vaping should be on prescription, health body says”, report, February 6).

Yet, despite Public Health England’s stated support for vaping as a safer alternative to smoking, the industry is explicitly banned from advertising or communicating these benefits. It is shocking that 40 per cent of smokers haven’t even tried a vaping product to reduce or stop smoking. Dan Marchant
