Straight to the pint

-

SIR – Your correspondents (Letters, February 6) who seem overly stressed by the way their pint is filled should perhaps relax a little and enjoy the ambience, warmth, comfort and conversation that the pub provides.

Besides which, if the publicans are making so much money from short-changing everyone, why are so many pubs closing? Robert Mills

Bideford, Devon

SIR – In the North we like our pints served the correct way: with a smooth creamy head, not flat and tasteless, even if it means losing a drop of beer. Brian Treadwell

Southport, Lancashire
