Dog’s life spared after storm provoked attacks
A DOG’S life has been spared after police accepted it only attacked four people because it was scared by a storm.
Northamptonshire Police had obtained an application to put down the dog, called Muppet, but it has now been withdrawn.
Muppet and Phoebe, another dog, fled from a house in Duston, Northants, in February last year as Britain was battered by Storm Doris.
Four people needed medical treatment after being bitten and Phoebe was shot dead by police. Muppet was seized, with police requesting a civil destruction order.
However, before a hearing on the dog’s fate, police withdrew the application as it was “completely out of character for Muppet”.
