Sandie Shaw has been made an MBE at an investiture at Buckingham Palace – and even wore shoes for the occasion. The Sixties star, known for singing barefooted, secured the UK’S first Eurovision Song Contest win in 1967 with Puppet on a String. The Prince of Wales was said to be surprised that the 70-year-old was only now being given an award.
