Yorkshire Ripper ‘could face further charges’

-

Peter Sutcliffe could be charged with attacking two victims “within weeks”, reports say, after he was questioned by a cold case review team.

Sutcliffe, 71, was visited at HMP Frankland, Co Durham, last Tuesday by officers from West Yorkshire Police’s Operation Paintball. The so-called “Yorkshire Ripper” is serving a whole-life tariff having been found guilty in 1981 of murdering 13 women and trying to kill seven more.

However, last week he was questioned for six hours in connection with five unsolved assaults. The interviews resulted in police telling Sutcliffe they were sending a file to the CPS, according to The Sun on Sunday.

West Yorkshire Police and Bradford Council declined to comment.
