Ukip leader admits he is still in love with model

Henry Bolton, the Ukip leader, has admitted he still has “strong affections” for Jo Marney despite the affair raising “serious questions” about his judgment.

In the run-up to Ukip’s extraordinary general meeting next weekend, Mr Bolton said that he was still in love with Ms Marney, who has been condemned for making racist comments about Meghan Markle.

Asked on BBC One’s The Andrew Marr Show if he was still in love with the 25-year-old, Mr Bolton said: “There are strong affections there, yes.” Mr Bolton admitted the “consensus” in his party was that there had been a “problem with my judgment”. Asked if his relationship with the model was still on hold, he refused to answer.
