Romance fraudsters hit women in forties most
Women in their 40s are the most vulnerable age group when it comes to falling victim to romance fraudsters, police have warned.
Britons lost £41million to online romance scams last year, the Datesafe task force has found, with each victim losing an average of £11,500 to a supposed love interest.
Commander David Clark, of the City of London Police, said: “Our latest intelligence tells us that women in their forties are the most likely to be tricked in this way.”
