Stockholm truck killer pleads guilty to terrorism
An Uzbek asylum seeker pleaded guilty to terrorism charges yesterday after the Stockholm truck attack that killed five people last year.
Rakhmat Akilov described the Swedish capital as a city full of “infidels”, and had sworn allegiance to Isil on the eve of his assault on Friday, April 7, when he stole a beer delivery truck and drove down a bustling street, swerving wildly to hit as many people as possible.
Three Swedes were killed, as well as a British man and a Belgian woman. Ten others were injured.
