Baby bitten by fox that entered family home

A seven-month-old baby girl was in hospital yesterday after an urban fox sneaked into a family home and bit her as she sat in her bouncer.

The animal came into the house through an open back door yesterday afternoon. Paramedics rushed to the property in Plymouth, Devon.

South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called on Tuesday at 1.47pm to an incident involving a suspected animal bite.”

The baby’s aunt said the child was taken to hospital where she received a tetanus injection and antibiotics.

The RSPCA said that fox attacks were “extremely unusual”.
