Hi-tech kit gives an edge
The suits feature drag-resistant ridges and have been brought in for the Games. Experts found a way to build the ridges into the suits while still abiding by the rules against attachments. Each athlete undergoes a 3D laser-scan before the polyurethane suit is made. They are similar to those developed by Northamptonbased Totalsim and the English Institute of Sport for the Team GB cyclists at the last three Olympics.
