Convict who swapped with twin is back in jail

Peruvian police have caught up with an escaped convict who walked out of a high-security prison a year ago leaving his twin brother in his place.

Alexander Delgado, who had been serving a 16-year sentence for child sexual abuse, left the Lima prison on January 10 last year, wearing his brother’s clothes and flashing his ID.

Police found him in the port city of Callao, adjacent to Lima, where they arrested the 28-year-old on Monday. His brother was never charged with an offence over the escape.
